I think that you will have trouble renting a drum. Steel drums are fairly fragile, and if they are dropped, they can be damaged beyond repair. A drum that is improperly handled can be knocked out of tune. Retuning can cost $50 to $150. Good luck though - if you would like to buy a drum, drop me an email.
